Associate Executive Director, YMCA Elementary School Programs (Before & After School)

The YMCA of Central Florida is seeking a motivated and hands-on leader as the Associate Executive Director of our Before & After Elementary School Program.

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the incumbent will directly supervise the Program Director leadership staff, along with program oversight for multiple locations during the 10-month school year, as well as manage the day-to-day camp operations during the summer months.

Critical areas of expertise include; managing multi-site before & after programming operations for elementary school youth and camp program quality, staff leadership, training and development, planning, implementing, managing, and supervising an age and developmentally appropriate curriculum, proven experience overseeing high volume staff interviewing, hiring and onboarding. The incumbent must be proactive and a self-starter with the ability to motivate and lead a large and predominately part-time staff team. S/he will be required to travel on a regular basis within Central Florida to various Before & After School locations. This individual should have related experience managing payroll costs and approving employee timecards through use of available technology tools; including proficiency in Excel. The incumbent will work with coordinator and director staff to ensure proper implementation of all staff schedules and procedures to provide maximum opportunities for student/staff connections as well as keeping within mandated ratios requirements.

Additionally we are seeking a leader that will cultivate daily relationships, displays a positive professional demeanor, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and effectively interacts with all levels of management, staff, students, parents and school administration.

Education, Training and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; education or related field of study preferred. 
  2. Minimum 3+ years of experience managing educational programs; multi-site daily operations.
  3. Minimum 3+ years of experience in staff supervision and leadership required; including training and development required.  
  4. Experience working closely with school board vendor clearance requirements and background screenings highly preferred.
  5. Must be able to provide a high-level customer service experience; with the ability to deescalate and resolve parent, staff and administration issues as needed. 
  6. Must be able to proactively identify and mitigate risk situation related to daily operations.
  7. Microsoft Office proficiency required.
  8. Current CPR/ AED and First Aid certifications required; obtained within first 60 days of hire.
  9. Must have a valid state driver’s license, and be able to travel within Central Florida.
  10. Must have the capacity to work in a fast-paced; outcome driven environment
  11. Bilingual in English and Spanish, a plus.
