Metal Fabrication Manufacturer in Lake Mary, Florida is seeking a Laser Operator to operate a computer controlled laser machine to produce blanks for additional manufacturing operations or sold as is as finished flat parts.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for the following:

• Reads production paperwork to determine specified requirements to manufacture.

• Determine if material supplied meets production requirements.

• Remove cut pieces from sheet and examine for defects associated with laser cutting including edge quality and surface nonconformities including scratches.

• Complete and maintain production paperwork, timekeeping records, fill out tags associated with production to identify parts produced.

• Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work area in compliance with facility housekeeping policies. (6S Standards)

• Wear required safety equipment and follows the equipment safe operation procedures.

• Read blueprints to determine characteristics required to monitor.

• Monitor the calibration of the equipment they use within their department.

• Check parts utilizing calipers, micrometers and height gages.

• Measure parts effectively to guarantee conformity to print specifications.

• Perform basic maintenance on the laser including gas changes, nozzle changes and the nozzle centering operation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:  High School/GED

Experience:  1-2 years

Physical Demands:

Work in a fast paced environment

Sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, climb or balance

Use arms, hands and fingers to lift, handle or feel

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Salary: $12.00-$17.00 (based on experience)

Term: Fulltime -Hire
