Summary:

To provide administrative assistance and project coordination to the Executive Director of Donor Development and to the Donor Marketing team to ensure the execution of tasks and the effective management of relationships with vendors, freelancers, internal departments, and donors. To increase the team’s capacity to raise funds and to welcome and thank donors who give to USDEV projects.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

For This Postion:

  • Manage a caseload of donors and thank partners for their giving by writing notes and calling them as assigned. Record all donor contact in the donor management systems
  • Cultivate new donors to the ministry by calling to thank them and invite them to join USDEV’s monthly pledge program
  • Respond to donor requests as needed.
  • Set up weekly team meetings, schedule video calls, and arrange the devotional schedule. Take notes as needed.  
  • Assist Executive Director in preparing for quarterly team meetings and the annual Freelancer Summit by creating calendar appointments, monitoring key job deadlines, doing meeting prep, coordinating meals, note taking, scheduling actions items in Asana, managing travel arrangements, preparing reports, creating presentations, etc.
  • Maintain master job schedule/status document. Create job numbers and drop dates for USDEV appeals/newsletters
  • Provide editing for donor marketing copy on occasion

Knowledge Of:

  • Ministry organization, operations, policies, and objectives
  • Computer functionality
  • Graphic design software for marketing pieces
  • Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary.
  • Interpersonal skills, using tact, patience, and courtesy
  • Modern office practices, procedures, and equipment
  • Fund development including direct marketing and major donor
  • Copy editing and proofreading techniques
  • Telephone etiquette

Ability To:

  • Multi-task in a fast-paced work environment and maintain priorities.
  • Coordinate large amounts of information simultaneously.
  • Work with Cru leadership in U.S. ministries and internationally.
  • Work closely with marketing freelancers and other outside vendors.
  • Function confidentially and diplomatically.
  • Disciplined self-starter who regularly sets and achieves work goals and deadlines and makes independent judgments.
  • Maintain diplomacy with leaders while being persistent to get responses to a variety of inquiries
  • Work cooperatively, creatively, and proactively with a virtual team.
  • Perform necessary research for reports and stories.
  • Use current technology including, but not limited to - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Portfolio, Google systems, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Asana, Internet, WebEx, Goldmine and Connect and Care data systems.
  • View ministry partner development as a vital ministry.
  • Communicate both orally and in writing on a highly professional level to a variety of constituencies, including ministry partners, potential ministry partners and CCC staff members (also includes written communication of ministry projects and cause concepts).
  • Solve problems calmly and efficiently.
  • Minimal domestic travel required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Two-year college degree/specialized training and 3 years of experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Experience with Cru preferred
  • Experience in development and/or direct response advertising agency is a plus
