The purpose of the Line Cook position is to prepare and expedite meal service in the Grill Room according to the customer’s requests and maintaining the highest standards of the Bay Hill Club.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure guest satisfaction by monitoring food quality, consistency and presentation.
  • Follow all procedures and guidelines for preparing and presenting food as described in the Standards and Procedures manual for this position.
  • Assist in creating daily specials.
  • Assist in the preparation and expedition of banquets.
  • Assist in other areas as needed.
  • Inform the Chef of any items needed to perform the above tasks.
  • Ensure that standardized recipes are used for al items prepared.
  • Ensure that the cleanliness of the kitchen is maintained by cleaning work areas and keeping free of debris and clutter.
  • Understands local and state Board of Health requirements and insures these policies are followed.
  • Any other duties that may be required by management from time to time.

Regular attendance is expected in conformance with the standards established by The Bay Hill Club & Lodge.  Your attendance is essential to the successful performance of this position.  Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the club/resort business, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the club.

Upon employment all employees are required to fully comply with The Bay Hill Club & Lodge rules and regulations for the safe, efficient operation of the club.  Employees who violate club rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILIITES

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

  • Knowledge of cooking equipment to include; standard and convection ovens, mixers, steamers, microwave ovens and cutlery. 
  • Ability to read and speak English.  Able to give, understand and follow instruction.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and identify problems and issues.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION Any combination of education or experience equivalent to the graduation of high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform to the position standards.  High school diploma required.  Post high school education desired. Culinary education preferred. EXPERIENCE

Minimum 3 years previous Line Cook experience in a club, restaurant or hotel fine dining facility.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES 

Certified Professional food Handler or ServSafe Certificate is preferred.

TOOLS, MACHINE AND EQUIPMENT USED

Cooking equipment, including standard and convection ovens, mixers, steamers, microwave ovens and cutlery.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be about to lift up to 30 pounds. Ability to stand for long periods of time.  Ability to bend, lift and move freely and quickly.

GROOMING

All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards determined by department).
