The Florida MiCaRT Center, an NIH/National Cancer Institute funded Center at the University of Florida, is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to coordinate the research activities for cancer health disparities project. The successful individual will report to the Program Manager of the NIH/NCI Florida MiCaRT Center and will be responsible for assisting with the research activities administered by the Center. The successful individual will be responsible for assisting in the development of research protocols, research implementation, community dissemination, and community outreach initiatives for Blacks state-wide, nationally and globally. The individual will also be responsible for coordinating special studies or projects focused on Black men as directed. The individual will serve as liaison between the program/service office and outside agencies. The individual will perform related duties as required or deemed appropriate to the accomplishment of the responsibilities and functions of his/her area, including budget, fiscal operations, and administrative tasks.
Job Description:
- Effective management of research projects, including data collection, preparation of annual reports, budget review, and dissemination of research results.
- Development of community outreach initiatives for the African American community, including initiating partnership with community-based and faith-based organizations, coordinating health outreach events, and evaluating health outreach events globally.
- Effective management of grant submission, including preparation of background reviews, budget development, DSR documentation and IRB submission. Monitoring of grant progress and compliance with documentation.
- Organization of health disparity conferences locally, state-wide, nationally and globally; including scheduling speakers, preparation of travel arrangements, catering arrangements, room scheduling and the announcement and promotion of the series.
- Participation in research meetings and research projects according to interest and expertise.
