Librarian, Research & Instruction

We currently have a great opportunity to join our team of talented and diverse Faculty and Staff at our Altamonte Springs Campus as a  Research & Instruction Librarian.The Librarian, Research and Instruction provides professional library services with emphasis on reference and instruction. Working in a team environment, provides leadership for library services, and direction in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the library's information literacy instruction program. Creates instructional and training materials in print, multimedia and interactive formats. Works collaboratively with other academic support services staff across the campus to develop programs and initiatives for the college community.

This position is anticipated to begin in April 2019; however, a later start date may be negotiated.

The librarian position is a regular, full-time 12 month contract Bargaining Unit Faculty position on track for continuing contract. Salary is $59,451 to $77,286 based on education and related work experience in accordance with the Salary Schedule in Article 26 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Master's degree in Library/information science from an American Library Association accredited institution.
  2. Minimum 2 years experience in instruction or librarianship in higher education
     

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Thorough working knowledge of Library services and standard procedures; some experience with reference services in academic Library.
  2. Experience with college libraries and information literacy instruction.
  3. Experience with online and automated systems, networked environments, electronic information sources, database research, and web-based instructional tools
