X-RAY TECHNOLOGIST
POSITION: X-Ray Technologist
RESPONSIBLE TO: Operation Support Manager and Branch Manager
JOB SUMMARY: Provide quality X-Ray images for our providers while maintaining efficient throughput and patient flow.
WORK HOURS: Monday through Friday 7:45am to 4:45pm. There is a rotation that consists of working one (1) Saturday a month 8:30am -1:30pm.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• ARRT Certified
• FL RT License
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- At least one year of experience in clinical assisting; orthopaedic experience preferred
- Knowledge of human anatomy
- Knowledge of electronic health record software and digital imaging software a plus; PACS experience preferred
- Pleasant speaking voice and demeanor
- Good communication skills
- Professional appearance
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage X-Ray orders and patient flow using EHR software
- Enter patient’s information into digital imaging software
- Prepare X-Ray room for procedure
- Escort patient to and from the exam room
- Confirm patient “date of birth” and the body part to be radiographed
- Ensure patient is wearing proper attire
- Properly position patient for specific procedure ordered by OOC provider
- Verify quality of images taken and send to PACS
- Sanitize X-Ray table and image detector after each exam
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process patient requests for X-Ray/MRI images
- Record incoming and outgoing films/CDs in EHR
- Review upcoming schedule to ensure patient films are available for appointment
- Ensure films for upcoming surgery are retrieved from the branch office and given to the physician
- Process patient requests for airport / wallet cards
- Maintain an organized filing system that is ‘user friendly’ for other technologists
- Maintain an inventory of supplies
- Provide clinical support for Medical Assistants (at MA's/Branch Manager's discretion)
REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Time off (PTO, sick time): requests will be directed to the Branch Manager first and then forwarded to the X-Ray Supervisor to determine if coverage can be provided
- Equipment problems (PACS, Fuji, GE Walker, Canon): email X-Ray Supervisor and copy Branch Manager. For immediate assistance call X-Ray Supervisor at 407.849.6883.

Physical Demands
Position requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Involves standing and walking for over an 8 hour day. Employee will occasionally be asked to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds. Normal visual acuity and hearing are required. Employee will work under stressful conditions and work irregular hours. Employee will be exposed to biohazard materials on a regular basis.
Typical Working Conditions
Employee will have some exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances (ie: cleaning products) and will be in constant pt contact.
