Position Summary
The EEG technician performs tests which include EEG, evoked potential (VER, BAER, somato-sensory, and infant hearing screening), and surgical EEG monitoring. Must effectively interact with patients, families, physicians and other health team members. The EEG tech works within the scope of the American Society of EEG Technology guidelines while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Demonstrates sound judgement regarding observations, findings and concerns. The EEG Technician contributes to positive patient outcomes and meeting the cultural expectations of the organization by exhibiting professional behavior and EEG expertise. He/she shares responsibility for all aspects of patient and team functions.
Qualifications
- *High School or Equivalent
- *Completion of an accredited Electroencephalographic program
- *Registration with the American Society of Electroencephalographic Technologists is a requirement (ASET)
