Electrician

Seminole State College of Florida is accepting applications for an Electrician from candidates with experience in the electrical trade. This position performs skilled trade work at the journeyman level in the electrical maintenance and repair of buildings, systems, and equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Installs, maintains and repairs mechanical and electrical equipment, fixtures, outlets, panels, etc. Requires ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
2. Installs and repairs wiring. Requires ability to work in enclosed spaces and climb ladders.
3. Installs and lays out electrical conduits. Requires ability to read and understand electrical circuits and diagrams.
4. Conducts monthly/annual inspections of electrical safety equipment such as emergency and exit lighting, and annual infrared inspections. Requires ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
5. Reviews, researches, and orders electrical parts.
6. Responds to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate concerns.
7. Secures parts from vendors, taking into consideration availability, cost, product value, warranty periods, and ease of installation.
8. Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
2. A minimum of four years of experience in the electrical trade at the journeyman level.
3. Valid Florida driver's license.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. State Electrician's License
