The Orlando Health Corporate Emergency Preparedness team are eagerly looking for an energetic, ethical, proactive, committed, hardworking, and detail-oriented team player. We are interested in an applicant that would be enthusiastic about joining a fast-paced team and learning healthcarebased Emergency Management.

Position Description (includes but not limited to):

Functions in a system-wide capacity to assist with all emergency management activities. Responsibilities to include research; drafting presentations and reports; analyzing data; preparing correspondence and outreach documents; and supporting the development of plans and emergency preparedness exercise materials to comply with requirements from regulatory agencies, including The Joint Commission, Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA), Dept. of Health (DOH) Trauma Program, National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Dept. of Homeland Security. Coordinates and assists with the development of system-wide comprehensive emergency management plan and emergency operations plans (policies and procedures), and undertakes annual documentation reviews in accordance with industry, national, regional and local regulations, standards and guidelines for hospital Emergency Preparedness and CMS guidelines. Coordinates in the oversight and implementation of system-wide solutions, and coordinates Emergency Management activities to include preparedness; response; recovery; and mitigation efforts. Coordinates and collaborates with providing warnings and emergency data to the organization, operational and technical support to hospital leadership before, during, and after emergency situations that affect the organizations personnel, property and equipment. Assists with ensuring all Orlando Health member hospitals are aligned with the Corporate Emergency Preparedness program and vision and, by providing oversight of internal and external exercises, meet the Joint Commission Emergency Management standards.

Education/Training Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Public Safety, Security, Safety, or closely related field required.
  • Completion of FEMA I.S. 100, 200, 700 and 800 level courses. Completion of NIMS 300 and 400 level courses within one year of hire.

Experience Requirements:

Two (2) years of experience in Emergency Management/Preparedness, security, fire safety, or safety. Knowledge of hospital Emergency Management, safety, security, and The Joint Commission, and homeland security guidelines (local, regional state, Federal, and accreditation). Experience in program development, program implementation, training/development, training implementation, conducting training, customer service, auditing, and inspections. Able to integrate and apply the concepts of comprehensive emergency management (planning, preparedness, mitigation, response & recovery). Microsoft office products specifically Excel, Word, or PowerPoint; or related experience.
