The YMCA of Central Florida has an incredible Associate Executive Director opportunity for a self-motivated leader with proven related successes in operations and program management, seeking the next step in their career with a large and growing Association.    Under the direction of the District Vice President, the incumbent will direct and oversee the day-to-day operations of our full service Osceola County YMCA Family Center located in Kissimmee, Florida, close to the Disney theme parks.  The facility has a budget of approximately $1 million, with 35 staff and opportunities for a growing membership base. The 24,000 sq. ft. facility underwent a major $2 million renovation in 2012.

The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing successful programming and staff in the areas of health/wellness, aquatics, sports, membership experience, and youth development. They must be highly organized with superior interpersonal skills, possess the ability to lead independently, and adapts easily to changing priorities.  Takes lead by collaborating with senior leadership and Association staff for developing and implementing operating procedures, best practices, and standards that improves operational outcomes and efficiencies to support the facility’s goals and objectives.  This individual will be an example of Y core values and will demonstrate them through programs and service offerings within a multi-cultural county, which caters to a large Hispanic/family oriented community. Candidates will be challenged to provide a successful track record in fiscal management; including the growth of revenue dollars, membership and the execution of innovative programs.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; with at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in operations management within the health and wellness industry is essential; YMCA experience preferred.
  • Leadership skills, including selecting, managing, motivating, training, evaluating staff.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing related operational processes, best practices and standards.
  • Budget and fiscal management experience with similar revenue responsibilities. 
  • A professional demeanor and the ability to lead by example with a high level of credibility. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Shows initiative with the ability to lead independently, as well as within a large Association and collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness with the ability to problem solve quickly and efficiently, anticipating potential issues before they arise and mitigates situations.
  • Ability to perform under deadlines and multi-task.
  • Technology skills; including Microsoft Office proficiency required.  
  • Ability to interpret critical industry data and reports. 
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, a plus!
