The building maintenance tech is responsible for the upkeep and repair of the buildings, their equipment and systems, as well as their surrounding property.Summary:
The building maintenance tech is responsible for the upkeep and repair of the buildings, their equipment and systems, as well as their surrounding property.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working knowledge of all aspects of building and property maintenance (hvac, plumbing, minor electrical, equipment, etc.)
- Daily walk-throughs of buildings and property
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment in working order
- Complete daily work orders in a timely manner, and document maintenance and repairs
- Report deficiencies noted in buildings and properties
- Once trained, able to train co-workers
- Verbal and written communication
Other Responsibilities:
- Learn and perform other tasks as assigned
- Follow policies and procedures of Maintenance Department and Full Sail University
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission and values of the organization

- Able to speak, read and write in English
- Able to follow instructions (written and verbal)
- Able to adapt to sudden changes in assignments

- Able to walk and stand for long periods of time
- Able to work safely with chemicals and trade tools and equipment
Education and/ or Experience:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required, post-secondary education preferred
- Minimum five years of relevant work experience preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid Florida drivers license required
- EPA certification preferred
Computer/Equipment Skills:
- Working knowledge of computer software programs such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred
Environmental Factors/ Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time, and will be subject to bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, reaching, climbing ladders, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds, as well as lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. In order to complete work assignments, the employee will work in a variety of adverse conditions such as tight or enclosed spaces, heights, humidity, hot and cold weather, indoors as well as outdoors. Employee will be required to work some weekends.
