Associate Professor of Engineering Technology

Annual salary is $51,367 to $73,319 commensurate with related work experience and education in accordance with the Bargaining Unit Faculty Salary Schedule listed in Article 26 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

This position is a regular, full-time teaching position and is on track for continuing contract.   The standard contract length is 196 days; however, other contract lengths may be available depending on department needs and the assigned campus location may vary due to enrollment.   

This position teaches and supports student learning outcomes within the Engineering Technology discipline in accordance with the following degree programs: Associate of Science in Engineering Technology, Architectural Engineering Technology, Computer-Aided Drafting and Design, and Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology. Develop and design course curriculum for delivery in the classroom or online, using best practices in instructional design. Interface with local engineering companies to keep pace with industry needs and promote internship opportunities. Assist college personnel with the writing of grant proposals. Support all college policies and procedures, participate in department and college meetings, activities, and committees, including graduation ceremonies and engagement with community partners.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Master's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from a regionally accredited institution, or Master’s Degree with 18 graduate credit hours in an engineering related field.
  2. At least four years of industry experience.
  3. Experience teaching traditional engineering or engineering technology. 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Doctorate degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
  2. Experience in an emerging area of engineering practice such as mechatronics, robotics, or additive manufacturing.
  3. Experience with project based learning.
  4. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
