Dean of English

Seminole State College of Florida is accepting applications for a Dean of English from candidates with a passion for setting high academic standards within the English disciplines of higher education. The Dean of English manages overall departmental operations in accordance with federal and state regulations, college policies and procedures, contractual agreements, and strategic planning goals and objectives. Administers and coordinates all operational matters related to student learning, instruction, and program and curriculum development. Hires and supervises faculty and staff and serves as a liaison with internal and external constituents. Ensures SACS and program accreditation compliance. Develops and manages budgets.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Master’s degree from an accredited institution in English.
2. Five (5) years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level in the department’s discipline.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Doctorate degree from an accredited institution.
2. Leadership experience in educational settings.
