WELDER

 

·         Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings

·         Set up components for welding according to specifications

·         Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded

·         Weld components using manual (GMAW), semi-automatic (FCAW & SAW) and auto welding equipment (SAW) in various positions (flat or horizontal position).

·         Experience using Air Carbon Arc Gouging equipment.

·         Monitor equipment and request maintenance when required.

·         Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

·         Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures

·         Experience in using electrical or manual tools

·         Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)

 

 FITTER

 

·         Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.

·         Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers.

·         Move parts into position, manually or with hoists or cranes.

·         Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.

·         Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences.

·         Operate welding equipment and tack weld fitted parts together.

·         Mark reference points onto floors and transpose them to workpieces, using measuring devices, squares, chalk, and soapstone

·         Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

·         Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
