Pay Range: $17.76/hr. - $26.51/hr. ($36,940.80 - $55,140.80/annually)
Shift: Monday - Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (40 hours/week)

Must have the physical, developmental and mental ability to perform job tasks, work efforts, responsibilities and duties of the job illustrated below:
Supervises and coordinates road construction and maintenance work. Supervises road and highway maintenance or construction operations. Supervises the construction, rebuilding and replacing of culverts and drainage structures.
Assigns, reviews and evaluates work crews performing construction and maintenance projects done by, motor graders, trucks, mowing equipment and other construction equipment. Gives direct on-site instructions and advises work crews on deficiencies noted. Operates equipment as required. Coordinates work activities with other foreman and crews.
Contacts public in areas where equipment and crews are working making necessary property trespass arrangements. Answers any questions regarding information or complaints from the public concerning projects. Reports actions and results of public questions to Area Maintenance Manager.
Performs related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Knowledge of methods, operating rules and equipment of road construction and maintenance operations; the types and uses of tools and equipment used in street and highway construction and maintenance. Knowledge of the operating characteristics and maintenance requirements of typical road maintenance and construction equipment. Knowledge of basic map reading techniques. Ability to see, ambulate independently, drive, bend, stoop, sit and stand. Ability to use multi-hand and/or foot controls. Ability to perform tasks that require eye and hand coordination.
Ability to work in all weather and environmental conditions (i.e.: sun, rain, cold, swamp, ditches, dirt and hot asphalt). Ability to lift up to forty five (45) pounds weight. Ability to plan, assign, schedule, review and supervise effectively the work of labor forces; understand, interpret and effectively carry out oral and written instructions, read working diagrams, sketches and simple blueprints; keep records and prepare reports.
Must be a graduate of an accredited high school or possess an acceptable G.E.D. certificate.
Must have a minimum of four (4) years experience in the maintenance or construction of roads and highways, including one (1) year of supervisory experience.
Must have a valid drivers license and be able to secure a valid Florida drivers license at the time of employment within this classification.
This position may be required to report for work when a declaration of emergency has been declared in Polk County.
