Orlando Regional Medical Center at Orlando Health is currently seeking a Registered Nurse OR to join our Ambulatory Surgery Unit on the dayshift, variable full-time. As an OR Nurse at ORMC, you will be responsible for providing direct bedside care to patients in a perioperative setting, to ensure the delivery of quality service and optimal patient flow. Education/Training

Bachelors Degree in Nursing from an approved educational institution required OR must be willing to pursue BSN within 3 years of employment (due to Magnet Status; tuition reimbursement is available)

Licensure/Certification

Maintains current Florida RN license

BLS/Healthcare Provider certification are required

CNOR Certification preferred but not required

Other certifications may be required as needed (ACLS, PALS, etc.)

Experience

Prior OR nursing experience or nursing experience in a surgery center strongly preferred

Essential Functions:

Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, assesses the data reflective of the patients status and interprets the necessary information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs.

Serves as a preceptor, mentor, or super user. Serves as a coach in evaluating and validating colleagues clinical judgment. Comfortable seeking multidisciplinary consultation.

Documents patient care in a knowledgeable, skillful and consistent manner meeting all required and regulatory standards.

Prioritizes patient care in an ongoing manner in accordance with Standards of Care and Practice.

Collects and assesses patient health data guided by the application of knowledge of physiological and psychological principles and experience, which is essential to establishing a nursing diagnosis and predicting outcomes.

Develops a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes; implements the interventions identified in the plan of care.

Evaluates the patients progress toward attainment of outcomes. The OR Nurse II, Inpatient systematically evaluates the quality, safety, and appropriateness of nursing practice.

Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, efficiency, environmental concerns, and cost in planning and delivering patient care.

Demonstrates leadership ability when responding to situations and efficiently uses existing resources. Uses untapped and alternative clinical resources as necessary.

Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
