Orlando health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women &Babies is seeking an Administrator for Patient Care. This person is responsible for allObstetrical and Womens Services strategies. Monitors quality and budgeting standards, while managing to achievehospital and corporate goals. Works withthe Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Quality Officer, and Chair of Medical StaffLeadership to address patient care issues by serving as a member of key medicaland planning committees of the hospital. Ensures that a continuous improvement approach is implemented to measureactual performance against established standards for nursing and patient carethroughout the hospital. Plans, leads,organizes, directs, and evaluates the delivery of patient care.
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of NursingPractice (DNP), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with Graduate degree inBusiness or health-related field.
Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State ofFlorida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
National leadership board certification through theAmerican Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Organization forNursing Leadership (AONL). For Team Members hired into this job prior to June28, 2020, this requirement must be met within 6 months.
Six years experience in obstetrical and women services, patientcare management including nursing management is required. Experience in managingclinical services in a managed care environment, including productivityenhancement, cost reduction, new program development, and quality management isalso required. Must demonstrate the ability to affect good medical staffrelations while working with highly qualified physicians.
Develops and implements mechanisms to ensure a uniformquality of nursing and patient care wherever nursing and patient care isprovided.
Establishes mechanisms to encourage research and toincorporate research findings into standards of practice and policies andprocedures.
Measures actual budgetary performance (revenue, expense,staffing) against standards, and ensures variances are within establishedtargets.
Evaluates performance of persons reporting to theposition against organizational, departmental and personal goals andobjectives.
Ensures that safety, health, and regulatory standardsare attained in the divisions assigned.
Ensures that a program is maintained to encourage recruitmentand retention.
Maintains currency in administrative practice.
Participates in professional, collegiate, and communityactivities. Develops/implements personal goals/objectives that support theorganizations strategic/operating plans and patient care services.
Assures the nursing standards are effectively carriedout throughout hospital nursing services.
Participates in the development and implementation ofthe hospital's plan for providing nursing care.
Participates in developing hospital-wide patient careprograms and policies and procedures that describe how patient's nursing careneeds are assessed, evaluated, and met.
Participates in corporate and hospital policy decisionsthat affect patient care.
Participates as a member of the Corporate NursingExecutive Council.
Develops, interprets, and promotes the formation of thephilosophy, policies, and procedures of Orlando Health.
Develops and implements operational plans for thehospital in conjunction and consistent with the overall Orlando Healthstrategic goals. Establishes system for control of variances.
Establishes and maintains an open and positive workingrelationship with board members, physicians, managers, employees, patients,visitors, and the community.
Participates with leaders from the governing body,management, medical staff, and clinical areas in hospital's decision-makingstructure and process.
Participates in evaluating, selecting, and integratinghealth care technology and information management systems that support patientcare needs.
Implements effective, ongoing programs to monitor,evaluate, and improve the quality of nursing care via the corporate nursingquality assessment and improvement program.
Provides direct support and assistance to the managersand staff members assigned for the full accomplishments of their assignedduties and responsibilities.
Participates in any contract or other negotiations whichwould affect operations of the hospital; monitors compliance of contracts.
Recruits, develops, retains, and evaluates qualifiedmanagers and staff members, recognizing the full accomplishments of staffassigned duties and responsibilities.
Other Related Functions
Participates in meetings where discussion is heldregarding hospital's mission, strategic planning, budget planning, operationalplanning, and review of policies that directly or indirectly affect nursingcare and/or operations of hospital.
Serves as a member of hospital Collaborative PracticeCommittee.Collaborates withCNO and educators to influence curriculum, including clinical and/or management.
