Orlando health is seeking a Cancer Registry Rep II. This person identifies, analyzes andmaintains documentation of all cancers, and selected neoplasms or conditions,that are diagnosed, treated and/or followed with active disease as part ofOrlando Healths Cancer Program (to include the Cancer Center, ORMC, anddesignated Orlando Health facilities).
High school graduate or equivalent.
Medical terminology required, including anatomy and physiology, and basicmedical record coding (ICD-O and/or ICD-10-CM).
Proficient in data entry/retrieval.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
One (1) yearcancer registry experience (required).
2/3 years ofCancer Registry experience preferred.
Identifies and reviews cases that are deemed eligible for inclusion in theregistry, as indicated by ICD-10 cancer codes and other ICD-10 codes requestedby the Cancer Program as reportable by agreement.
Performs initial identification of case eligibility for Rapid Quality ReportingSystem (RQRS) and Cancer Program Practice Profile Reports (CP3R) to assist theCancer Registrars (CTR) with timely abstracting.
Responsible for assigning the correct ICD-O code, identifying casereportability for the state registry (FCDS) and entering the appropriateinformation into the Cancer Registry database, with minimal ongoing training.
Reviews the RQRS Alert list to identify updates in treatment plans, maintainsdocumentation of any treatment changes and notifies the CTR to update theabstract in a timely manner.
Identifies cases that may have new treatment courses or tumor recurrence foundwithin the Electronic Health Record (EHR); responsible for sending therecurrence list to the designated CTR and ensuring the treatment record hasbeen updated within the Cancer Registry database.
Assists the Supervisor and CTRs with the Cancer Program Practice ProfileReports (CP3R) and performs routine follow-up, confirming the necessarytreatment records have been updated within the Cancer Registry database.
Handles special projects as assigned; requires minimal supervision.
Assists in reconciliation of Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA)reports and the Death Log as needed.
Assists in Physician QA process as needed.
Assists with manual casefinding through pathology report reviews and follow-up,as needed.
Communicates cooperatively and constructively with physicians and members ofthe healthcare team.
Responsible for completing at least 20 hours of available training annually, oras required by the Cancer Registry department, to stay abreast of currenttrends in cancer related coding and treatment guidelines.
Demonstrates proficiency in all aspects of cancer surveillance.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with OrlandoHealth policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policiesand procedures.
