Lake Port Square is currently seeking a full-time Line Cook. The cook is responsible for complete safety and sanitary preparation of all food items per standardized recipes. Tact, grace, and courtesy are all required to be displayed in this role, as we are working within a residential community. Attention to detail, being knowledgeable about food safety and handling, and impeccable cleanliness is critical in your day-to-day responsibilities.

Requirements
- Prepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders.
- Prepares all soups, stocks, sauces; boils, braises, and roasts items as per standardized recipes.
- Prepares and serves all sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed, and baked items as per standardized recipes.
- Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food is preserved.
- Determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and seeing that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
- Performs all other work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Marginal Duties:
- Maintains standards for personal appearance and cleanliness.
- Maintains safe and sanitary conditions.
- Maintains effective working relationships with food service management and staff from all departments.
- Assumes own responsibility for personal growth and continuing education.
- Participates in the orientation process of new employees.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalency, required.
- Previous work in restaurant, food preparation, or related experience.
- Certificate of completion of serve safe required.
