Orange County is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity. We are seeking a motivated, high energy, self-starter to serve in the role of Nursing Unit Supervisor with the Corrections Division. Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, this position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a designated nursing unit which includes ensuring quality patient care is being provided in accordance with established nursing practices and procedures. May serve as the Nurse Manager in her/his absence.
Representative Duties
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
Directs and oversees the activities of LPNs, RNs, MAs, Lab Technicians and other assigned staff. Duties include but are not limited to:
• Instructing, educating and reviewing the work of others.
• Maintaining standards of the division.
• Directing personnel to include work assignments, counseling and corrective discipline.
• Preparing work schedules.
• Acting on inmate and employee problems.
• Submitting employee payroll documents on time.
• Assists staff with the completion of med passes, physical assessments, and sick calls
Maintain employee records, which would include accurate attendance records, documented poor work habits and corrective discipline issues, and efficiency reports.
• Holds monthly staff meetings and makes daily rounds of assigned areas.
• Assist physicians, nurses and other staff in the provision of care.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Nursing, medicine and/or any related allied health profession and four (4) years as a registered nurse with at least two (2) of those years as a nurse supervisor or director of nursing.
Must possess a current Florida license as a registered nurse.
BCLS Certification.
Data Conception : Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable functional, structural or compositional characteristics (whether similar or divergent from obvious standards) of data, people or things.
Interpersonal Communication : Requires the ability of speaking and/or signaling people to convey or exchange information. Includes the giving of instructions/assignments to subordinates.
Language Ability : Requires the ability to read and comprehend a variety of documents and reports such as audits, records, statistical reports, personnel reports, etc. using the proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar.
Proficient in IV Therapy and phlebotomy.
Must be able to work shifts, including nights and weekends.
Must possess a current Florida license as a registered nurse. BCLS certification. Proficient in IV therapy and phlebotomy. Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, including nights and weekends.

Salary
Salary Range: $67,995 -$87,069 - Annually
