THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION WITH NO BENEFITS AND NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS THOUGH 20 HOURS PER WEEK IS ANTICIPATED
Starting Salary: $13.00 to 15.00 per hour, depending on qualifications

NATURE OF WORK:
Performs technical work in various phases of a 24-hour per day, seven-day per week computerized traffic control system operations center. Monitor current traffic conditions at intersections and roadways via central signal software, cameras and other devices. Operate and monitor system consoles and related equipment, and recognize atypical conditions to take corrective action. Duties also include manning the traffic control operations call center. Receives trouble calls from roadway users regarding signal operation, congestion, or other road conditions; assists callers with their problems, recommends corrective action and/or refers calls to other technical source; asks questions of users to determine problem origin, severity, and nature and refers and prioritizes calls accordingly. Work is performed under general supervision.
WORK HOURS: Will vary and include evenings, weekends, and rotating shifts based on division needs; 20 hours per week is anticipated.
