Associate Professor, Physics

Seminole State College of Florida is accepting applications for a full-time Physics Associate Professor in our beginning Fall Term 2021. This is a bargaining unit position on track for continuing contract. The contract length is 164 days (teaching 18 credit hours in each of Fall and Spring); however, other contract lengths, may be available depending on department needs. We are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic teaching applicants who exhibit a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and the demonstrated ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner. Teaching responsibilities consist of Physics related courses.

Salary is based on education and related work experience in accordance with the Salary Schedule in Article 26 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in Physics
OR
Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in any combination of the following qualifying fields:

  • Astronomy
  • Engineering
  • Physics 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated understanding of the learning centered approach to teaching desired.
  • Experience utilizing technology and innovative pedagogy to deliver exceptional teaching and learning desired.
  • Teaching experience desired.
