Associate Professor, Political Science

Seminole State College of Florida is accepting applications for a full-time Political Science Associate Professor in our beginning Fall Term 2021. This is a bargaining unit position on track for continuing contract. The contract length is 196; however, other contract lengths, may be available depending on department needs. We are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic teaching applicants who exhibit a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and the demonstrated ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner. Teaching responsibilities consist of Political Science related courses.

Salary is based on education and related work experience in accordance with the Salary Schedule in Article 26 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Political Science.

OR

Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the following qualifying fields:

• Political Science

• May include one or two graduate level courses with political science content that represent regional perspectives such as:  African, Asian or Hispanic Studies

NOTE: A Juris Doctorate may be used to satisfy the academic preparation requirement for teaching American Government only.

NOTE: A Master’s degree in International Relations may be used to satisfy the academic program requirements for teaching COP or INR prefix courses only.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
