Job Title:             Entertainment Manager

Department:     Entertainment

Reports to:        Director of Guest Experience

OVERVIEW/POSITION PURPOSE

With a goal of creating childlike wonder and fun for wish families, the Entertainment Manager leads a team of entertainment professionals in the operation of Village venues, shows and events, characters/costuming and personalizations. At the same time, he/she ensures that safety guidelines, program standards and procedures are adhered to by staff and volunteers on a consistent basis.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Venues Management

  • Manage and maintain the quality and safety of all venues.
  • Ensure all entertainment venues and events have appropriate volunteer coverage.
  • Maintain entertainment equipment, vehicles, tools and program items at the highest level of quality and controlled inventory.
  • Review, train and confirm that the standards and procedures for daily venues are consistently met.

Shows & Events Management

  • Manage and maintain the quality and safety of all shows and events.
  • Ensure the character and costume program is functional and maintained.
  • Secure and supervise outside entertainment groups.
  • Coordinate personalizations that involve entertainment.

Staff Management

  • Collaborate with the Guest Experience Director to provide direction, leadership and support to all entertainment staff that mirror the mission and core values of the organization.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Perform venue and show audits and provide constructive feedback in a timely fashion.
  • Coach, manage and mentor the Entertainment Team.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 sessions and annual reviews with each direct report to ensure alignment between expectations and team member performance.
  • Maintain documentation to inform and measure direct reports performance.
  • Recognize achievements being made in all areas of the department and create area celebrations for surpassing expectations.

Volunteer Management

  • Partner with the Advancement Team and/or Volunteer Services Department to coordinate volunteer group projects for visiting groups and corporate partners.

Finance

  • Maintain fiscal responsibility (budgeting, payroll and operating expense control) for overall Entertainment Department.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OUTSIDE NORMAL WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Regularly required to walk, stand, bend, crouch, balance and use hand/arms to lift/move objects.
  • Work in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Able to lift and transfer 50 lbs.
  • Able to work evenings and weekends, holidays and extended hours both on and off property.

  • Able to operate audio/visual/lighting/computer hardware requirements for facility venues.
  • Able to operate a motorized vehicle, including a battery-operated golf cart.
  • Valid driver's license and clear driving record
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Four to six years of experience in the entertainment/recreation industry.
  • Degree in Event Management, Recreation or Hospitality preferred.
