Nature of Work:
Performs supervisory, limited administrative, and skilled work for Traffic Operations. An incumbent assigned to this position is responsible for performing traffic control enforcement work to ensure traffic safety standards are observed by those performing work in City Right-of-Ways. Primary duties include: Inspections of work performed in City Right-of-Ways, advising those performing work regarding methods to warn, control, protect, and expedite vehicular and pedestrian traffic, and notifying others affected by barricades and closures (e.g. Police and Fire Departments) of obstructions and detour routes; attend meetings with customers to assist with the development of traffic control plans related to construction, utility installation and maintenance; and assist with Special Event staffing and traffic management. Work is performed under the supervision of Traffic Control Manager and is reviewed through observation, results obtained, and discussions.
