SUMMARY OF OVERALL PURPOSE

The Assistant Director of Marketing is responsible for overseeing marketing strategy, budgets and workflow across the organization; anticipating and delivering on project needs; identifying and setting priorities; and leading brand identity efforts both internally and externally. This individual will work closely with Department heads to provide high-quality, effective and compelling collateral and digital assets to help shape the organization’s brand message.  

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Marketing

  • Lead production meetings.
  • Partner with the Development Team to roadmap marketing objectives.
  • Source and procure all marketing-related items.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to manage signage and collateral needs.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions.
  • Develop campaign briefs and recaps.
  • Spearhead initiatives to develop news assets for the Village.
  • Support press events and manage on-site media tours.
  • Manage graphic designer and content coordinator.
  • Oversee the management and procurement of digital assets for all departments’ needs.
  • Analyze market trends and develop marketing programs that advance organization objectives.

Brand Management

  • Uphold brand consistency across all communication touchpoints and on-property.
  • Partner closely with Development Team to create and produce materials supporting marketing campaigns, fundraising programs and special events that align with branding guidelines.
  • Ensure third-party partners and vendors adhere to branding, identity and quality standards.

Staff Management

  • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals; assign accountabilities; set objectives; and set priorities.
  • Provide necessary and appropriate coaching through frequent feedback, 1-1’s and performance reviews.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development.

Project Management

  • Oversee project management discipline within the Development Department.
  • Provide support and coaching to project manager to ensure the effective and efficient completion of projects.

  • Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook/Express with the ability to learn new computer programs.
  • Experience in project management software including but not limited to Asana, Base Camp and/or other project management software.
  • Able to operate a motorized vehicle, including a battery-operated golf cart.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Interest in graphic art design and willingness to learn new design skills as needed, preferred.
  • Able to create and edit basic forms and flyers, preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field required.
  • 5-10 years of agency or marketing experience.
  • 2 years of management experience.
