Job Title: Engineer III - Mechanic
Department: Engineering
Reports To: Engineering Manager
OVERVIEW/POSITION PURPOSE:
Perform a variety of complex repair tasks and service with minimal supervision.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Preventive Maintenance
- Perform schedule inspections on designated equipment to include vehicles and golf carts.
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance on designated equipment.
- Utilize a systematic approach to research defective parts/systems.
- Responsible for implementation of immediate and long-term solutions to improve operational reliability, safety and serviceability.
Repairs
- Analyze, troubleshoot issues to identify source of problem and recommend solution.
- Troubleshoot and repair small engine.
- Safely perform highly complex repairs of mechanical equipment.
- Ensure all methods, materials and practices meet company standards, local codes and national codes.
- Utilize above average engineering operation skills and strong general mechanical ability.
Guest & Volunteers
- Welcome and acknowledge all guest according to company standards.
- Anticipate and address guest need.
- Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
Additional Activities
- Provide training and mentoring to Engineer I and Engineer II.
- Perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including conducting rounds and perform readings.
All other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OUTSIDE NORMAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to lift 75 lbs without assistance
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Ability to work in small, confined, poorly lit or non-air-conditioned spaces or environment
- Ability to repetitively reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping
SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience performing complex troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of proper use of hand tools, specialty automotive tools and electrical meters.
- Ability to troubleshoot sensor technology, PLC controllers, variable speed motors, hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics.
- Ability to initiate actions based on ones own interpretation or understanding of a situation.
- Must understand low, medium, and high voltage applications, safe wiring practices including lockout/tag out procedures.
- Demonstrates keen attention to detail and quality product.
- Ability to communicate, understand, speak, read, write English to communicate with guests, staff and vendors.
- Basic computer skills.
- Able to work a flexible shift to meet department needs, this includes availability for days, nights, weekends and extended hours.
- Ability to operate a motorized vehicle, including battery-operated golf cart.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- High School Diploma.
- 4-6 years of related mechanical equipment.
