This position is responsible for performing general maintenance and servicing of Authority vehicles in a fast paced environment. This position requires shift work including evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Incumbent in this position is eligible to participate in the Bloodborne Pathogen Program.
· This position is considered safety-sensitive and subject to the provisions of the Substance Abuse Program Policy for Safety Sensitive Positions.
Essential Functions:
Fuels vehicles.
Checks and fills engine oil, transmission fluid and water.
Checks tires for air and tread conditions.
Cleans interior and exterior of buses and support vehicles.
Sweeps and mops buses.
Brushes off seats.
Cleans and removes trash from buses and support vehicles.
Cleans all windows in buses and support vehicles and wipes down entrances.
Drives buses through the bus washer.
Parks buses safely.
Refills fare box with media cards.
Operates Fork Truck as needed.
Completes work orders and other required written and electronic forms.
Operates buses and support vehicles on public roadways and performs vehicle swap‐outs.
Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
Required Qualifications:
*Must have a current and valid Florida CDL Class “B” license with airbrakes and a passenger
endorsement.
Must successfully pass the LYNX CDL Defensive Driving Course.
Must have a valid DOT Medical Card.
High School diploma or GED preferred.
**Clean driving record.
* A CDL permit may be accepted if candidate demonstrates the required knowledge, skills and ability to effectively perform the functions of this position (must possess CDL license prior to completion of probationary period.)
