Position Summary:

The Steward is responsible for maintaining the receipt and storage of product into the kitchen.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Checks in product with the Executive Chef.
  • Balances incoming product against the Purchase Order, ensuring proper receipt of product.
  • Stores incoming product.
  • Rotates existing product to ensure optimal utilization.
  • Creates, maintains and removes appropriate labels for product.
  • Maintains proper cleanliness of all coolers and dry storage areas.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

GED or High School diploma or equivalent and one to two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Skills:

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to make timely and sound decisions. Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines. Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at several organizational levels.
