Position Summary:
The Bartender provides food and beverage services to customers in the bar in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner and ensures a positive experience for all customers. Each Bartender is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of the Gibsons Restaurant Group’s philosophy, which is based upon four distinct core beliefs: Hospitality, Quality, Value and Family.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve customers as part of a team by anticipating their needs, initiating conversation, offering assistance and advice and remembering that “the customer is always right”!
- Check identification to ensure customers meet minimum age requirements for consuming alcoholic beverages.
- Must responsibly serve customers alcohol according to the guidelines of safe serving.
- Mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to patrons of bar, following standard recipes. Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
- Serve wine and draught or bottled beer.
- Accurately enters orders into POS, collects money and returns change for drinks/food served. Accurately reports tips for each shift.
- Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive display. Slice and pits fruit for garnishing drinks.
- Maintain a neat and clean bar area on a continual basis.
- Be aware of potential hazards, which could cause, but are not limited to, slipping, tripping, falling or burns.
- Arrive for each shift on time and in full uniform.
- Attend all pre-shift meetings ready to “listen and learn” and share ideas. Avoid leaving work area during peak periods.
- Take breaks only when approved by the General Manager or Manager. Keep a clean and professional appearance at all times.
- Take and delivers food orders for customers dining in bar area.
- Have extensive knowledge of the restaurant’s menu and wine list, including daily specials. May tend service bar and be designated Service Bartender.
- Make change for servers.
- May perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED preferred and six months to one year related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
