Position Purpose
This role is responsible for managing high complexity projects & initiatives within US and Canada Regions. Primary focus will be for Wood Waste Management (WWM), Plant Capital Equipment & Automation, as well as related Technical Systems, Maintenance programmes, and spare parts.
Additionally, this role will support the development of global strategies for Wood Waste Management and Plant Equipment.
The PA must deliver significant costs reduction and avoidance while also managing effective strategic supplier relationships to ensure consistent performances, risk mitigation and adherence to Brambles compliance policies.

Major/Key Accountabilities
- Generate multi-faceted value, including tangible cost reduction savings across addressable spend of approximately U$15M+
- Work with other relevant cross-functional departs such as ZWW, Process Engineering, Ops, Quality and Finance to pursue sustainable and economical viable opportunities that support Brambles 2025 zero waste to landfill goals as well as plant automation
- Primary focus in FY23 will include fast tracking biochar initiative in support of Brambles’s zero waste to landfill for all US CHEP-managed Service Centers
- Establish wood waste data dashboard and reporting to Senior Management
- Manage current WWM opportunity pipelines including developing pipeline of sustainability opportunities for next 3yr (FY23-FY25)
- Collaborate closely with other P2P as well as Finance Business Partners
- Establish a vendor governance framework with key suppliers to include:
- Development, negotiation and renewal of Master Agreements and project contracts to mitigate potential risks
- Ongoing supplier performance management with relevant score card
- Diversify CHEP’s supplier base to enable competition, drive innovation, and provide robust alternatives as needed
- Execute according to Brambles’ Procurement Policies and ensure Zero Harm and Compliance Charters are adhered to
- Thought leader who can share best practices across the globe with different project teams and stakeholders to foster standard operating processes
- Support the development of category strategies and their execution regionally
- 20% travel potential – domestic
Authority/ Decision Making
- Approval of new supplier requests
- Approval of PO requests (all spend amounts)
- Negotiation with suppliers
- Executive stakeholders problem solving or supporting impromptu decision making
- Working autonomously or having a disrupted level of line manager support with differing location and/or time zones
- Effectively collaborating in a truly matrix environment i.e. across Sustainability, Engineering, Ops, Quality, HSE, Finance, Legal and others
Qualifications
- 3+ years of strategic sourcing for a global or national organization with proven track record of managing multiple tenders
- Experience within Procurement and related P2P ERP systems such as Coupa, Ariba, and SAP
- 2+ years of contract management experience. Be a close partner to the Legal department
- Demonstrated experience thinking strategically but detail-oriented to support concepts with facts and data
- Experience articulating points of view with senior management and supporting/executing impromptu directions

- Relevant category & commodity management preferably with US/Canada experience
- Some experience within a large waste management business is desirable
