The Embassy Suites - Orlando Lake Buena Vista South is currently accepting applications for PM Restaurant Line Cook $18+ / HR.

As a Banquet Cook, you would be responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Prepare food items according to designated recipes and quality standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all times.
  • Manage guest orders in a friendly, timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure knowledge of banquet menu and all food products.
  • Stock and maintain designated food station(s).
  • Visually inspect all food sent from the kitchen.
  • Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations.
  • Prepare requisitions for supplies and food items, as needed.
  • Working knowledge of all stations
  • Understand, and be familiar with Banquet Event Orders (BEO's)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a minimum two years of culinary experience, including at least one year of experience as a banquet cook.
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
  • Understanding of mathematics as it relates to cooking and calculating ingredients for banquets/events
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Ability to read and follow recipes
  • Able to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.
