The Opportunity:

UCF Human Resources is seeking to fill multiple Compensation Analyst positions. The Compensation Analyst assists UCF's Compensation Center of Expertise team on various projects or other specialized compensation activities. Additionally, under direct supervision, this position assists studies, analyzes, and makes recommendations for university-wide classification and pay actions.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs compensation assessments such as position audits/reviews, job establishments, reclassifications, new hires, and organizational structure reviews. Evaluates classifications and compensation in accordance with university pay practices, guidelines, and compensation structures and systems, and make recommendations for creating new job classifications.

  • Responds to department requests for compensation information. Provides interpretation of university policies, bargaining agreements, and practices related to compensation. Assists in conducting college/division organizational staffing studies on request to assist administration with funding requests for additional staffing.

  • Assists in monitoring and providing information regarding market data and average salaries - locally, regionally, and nationally for all occupations at UCF so the university can competitively recruit and retain excellent employees.

  • Provides support for compensation systems (i.e., PayScale), the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (i.e., PeopleSoft and/or WorkDay), HR-Compensation's role in the service center (i.e., Service Enhancement Transformation and/or Service Expertise Center) and other system or workflow support that pertains to classification and compensation actions.

  • Works on special projects assigned to HR-Compensation, such as updating Job Descriptions from the Classification and Compensation project or through periodic reviews/updates on Job Descriptions, updating pay plan as needed when Job Description changes occur, monitors projects, and providing updates for various projects assigned to HR-Compensation.

  • Generates reports and analyzes data to verify and recommend appropriate actions and/or adjustments.

  • Performs related miscellaneous duties as assigned. Other compensation-related projects will be assigned to this position as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of relevant experience in Compensation or Human Resources

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of best practices in Human Resources

  • Knowledge of best practices in Classification and Compensation

  • Industry certifications such as (SPHR; PHR; SHRM-CP; SHRM-SCP)

  • Industry certifications such as Compensation Analyst Credential (CAC) or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to work on many projects simultaneously and be detail-oriented

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and critical thinking

  • Demonstrated experience in effective time management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

  • Effective communication and organizational skills

  • Understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
