The Facilities Management Division is seeking a highly qualified Support Specialist for the Special Services Maintenance office. The Support Specialist position provides administrative support and daily contract oversight of term contracts for security guard services, janitorial, pest control, window cleaning, uniforms, shoes, etc. in the maintenance district.  In return, we offer stability with excellent benefits, including membership in the State of Florida Retirement System

Representative Duties

  • Reviews and tracks security contractor open invoices (over 50 invoices received weekly).
  • Assists with documentation/tracking of the security contractor’s OJT program and Screener Testing program.
  • Tracking of security contractor Monthly Meeting Minute Reviews/Corrections.
  • Tracking of security guard background clearances
  • Documentation/Tracking of security guard training requirements
  • Filing of security guard incident reports.
  • Preparing Draft Unsatisfactory Service Reports as directed.
  • Arranging for maintenance/repair of security scanning equipment as needed.
  • Electronic filing of Security Guard Incident Reports and after-hour/weekend property emergency reports generated by the security guard contractor.
  • Assists with contractor oversight associated with pressure washing, landscaping, pest control/fertilization, parking lot sweeping, signage, tree trimming and fencing/manual gate repairs/installs.
  • Assists with administration of Background Clearance records.
  • Assists with administration of Orange County Security Committee records.
  • Purchases uniform and safety shoes.
  • Provides administrative back up to Administrative Specialist.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent and three years’ experience in support of customers.

Intermediate computer skills in Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.

May be required to provide own transportation to perform work related duties.

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License by date of hire.


  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Maximo preferred.
  • Experience in providing fiscal and budget management support.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a team environment.

    Standard work hours are Monday thru Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Work hours may include, weekends, after-hours, and post hurricane response due to operational needs.

    This position is subject to assignment at any Facilities Management location due to project, task, or operational requirements.
