The Opportunity:

Under limited supervision, this Senior Analyst role serves as a subject matter expert in Compensation to HR business centers staff and management and engages in a broad range of activities, including analytical analysis, job classification, salary studies, workforce planning and other initiatives that supports the university’s ability to compete for talent, and maintain a competitive edge as it relates to talent rewards.

 

Responsibilities:  

  • As a principal analyst and strategic compensation consulting partner to assigned units, you will provide recommendations on internal equity and parity inquires, market adjustment requests, and various incentive/pay strategies.

  • Provide interpretation of university policy, bargaining agreements, guidelines, and practices related to compensation to campus stakeholders and partners.

  • Provide input into the development and revision of university salary administration guidelines while helping to strengthen compensation training and knowledge delivery. This includes the ongoing analysis and subsequent recommendations related to job establishment, job classification and maintenance, job slotting, and department reorganizations. 

  • Develop and maintain various data models aimed at ensuring the university is approaching incumbent pay decisions in an equitable manner.

  • Generate ad hoc and regularly scheduled reports related to compensation and classification and lead the participation in various salary surveys.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of best practices in Classification and Compensation.

  • Industry certification such as Compensation Analyst Credential (CAC) or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Ability to work on many projects simultaneously and be detail oriented.

  • Effective time management, problem-solving, and strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and critical thinking.

  • Ability to communicate concepts clearly and have strong customer service skills.

  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
