UCF RESTORES:
UCF RESTORES is a nonprofit clinical research center and treatment clinic established to change the way posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related concerns are understood, diagnosed, and treated. UCF RESTORES' first-of-its-kind approach to treatment -including a highly successful intensive outpatient program- combines evidence-based individual exposure therapy, virtual reality technology, and group treatment sessions to help those suffering in the wake of trauma.
The Opportunity:
The University of Central Florida (UCF) UCF RESTORES is seeking qualified candidates for an Applications Programmer I position. This position will be engaged in the support, development, and coordination, of technical projects at UCF RESTORES. This includes working in a collaborative environment to ensure the successful utilization of virtual reality (VR) software and the maintenance of web environments, in addition to supporting the faculty and staff who use them.
UCF RESTORES is looking for a candidate who is eager to learn. UCF RESTORES is a nonprofit clinical research center and treatment clinic established to change the way posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related concerns are understood, diagnosed, and treated. We provide mental health support and develop sophisticated software applications that aid real patients on their road to recovery.
The selected candidate will learn about new technologies and help research the best solutions to improve mental health. The selected candidate will understand that usability and ease of use for non-technical users are not only important but key to what we produce. The selected candidate will want to help make a difference in people's lives and be a kind and supportive technical addition to our team.
Responsibilities:
Support daily technological operations and development for VR environments and websites running WordPress, and .NET.
Work with technical leads to support web and VR application development, updates, and maintenance.
Provide the first point of contact for application support and resolution.
Troubleshoot and document problems to assist in the development of viable solutions while utilizing available University tools, technologies, and procedures.
Provide clear, written technical communication and training materials to support faculty and staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, engineering management, information systems, or digital media.
Strong background in information technology, as well as web and/or VR development.
Able to communicate with technical leads and non-technical users alike to coordinate and assist in the maintenance and development of various types of applications.
Work independently and be able to complete tasks with a high level of attention to detail.
Able to handle multiple, concurrent priorities and the pressure of deadlines.
Able to keep all patient-based information confidential.
Knowledge of and experience with programming languages: .NET, C#, PHP, HTML, and CSS. Development Tools: Unity, WordPress. Databases: Microsoft SQL, MySQL. Cloud-Based Servers: Azure, Amazon Web Services, Pantheon. Microsoft Office.
