The Opportunity:
The Creative Coordinator position supports the communication needs of the UCF Office of Research by providing photography, videography, graphic design, writing and social media skills for press releases, social media, and marketing materials, such as newsletters, emails, brochures, flyers, and annual reports, as well as tracks the office's media coverage through a public relations management platform.
This is a Contract and Grant (C&G) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.
Responsibilities:
Takes photos and videos of visually interesting research for sharing in news releases, social media, and other channels, including as b-roll for news agencies. Photographs spot news and events.
Designs, produces, and releases marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, annual reports, email newsletters, social media posts, and other collateral.
Tracks the office's media coverage through a public relations management platform.
Works with stakeholders from across campus to assist with communications.
Writes and edits some content for media alerts/press releases, website announcements, college event listings, targeted social media posts, digital communications, flyers, photos, videos, and other collateral.
Identifies visually interesting research storytelling opportunities that align with UCF's strategic goals for research, innovation, and entrepreneurism.
Develops relationships with local and national press contacts and campus communicators, helps serves as media escort during on-campus interviews.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, etc.), Canva.
Four years of experience as creative content specialist, preferably in a higher education environment.
Experience in compiling analytics for content performance.
