Financial Affairs:

The mission of Financial Affairs is to provide efficient and effective accounting, budgeting, and financial services, and solutions for the UCF community with an emphasis on customer service, integrity, and quality. Our services include budget analysis and planning, cash and investment management, collection and recording of revenues, disbursement of funds, financial reporting, fixed asset accountability and control, procurement services, student financial services, and tax compliance.

The Opportunity:

UCF Financial Affairs seeks an Associate Director, University Budgets. This position assists in planning, developing, and implementing policies and processes supporting the administration of university budgets and the effective stewardship of the university's financial resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the planning, development, and administration of the university's operating budget and its approval by the University Board of Trustees.

  • Assists in the annual and ad hoc submission of the operating budget and related reports to the Board of Governors, requiring current knowledge of reporting and system requirements mandated by the legislature and Board of Governors.

  • Serves as advisor and liaison to divisional and college-level budget personnel in formulating and administering university budgets.

  • Assists in the development and issuance of financial reports/projections to guide and support effective fiscal stewardship by university leadership.

  • Supervise and train direct reports, ensuring that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. Establish goals and objectives, monitor performance, and provide timely feedback to enhance their professional development.

  • Regularly evaluates processes and systems to identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and internal controls.

  • Assist in developing university policies and processes and support the administration of university budgets and strategic allocations of university resources.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience with at least 2+ years of leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • State University System (SUS) of Florida budgeting experience.

  • Higher education budgeting experience.

  • Advanced Excel skills.

  • Experience using Adaptive or Workday.

  • Experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau/PowerBI).
