The Opportunity:
Under the direction of the Manager of Contracts and Grants, the Contracts and Grants Specialist III assists faculty, students, and staff with activities related to sponsored research programs and/or projects, and other research-related activities of the college.
Responsibilities:
Performs research administration duties associated with the coordination of sponsored research programs and/or projects for pre-award activities, including but not limited to, preparing proposal budgets, reviewing agency guidelines, preparation of proposal documents for central office review, and entry into the university research administration system(s).
Performs research administration duties associated with the coordination of sponsored research programs and/or projects for award management activities, including but not limited to, reviewing/monitoring award grant accounts, preparing deliverables with faculty and staff, assisting with effort certification, processing award modifications, and monitoring award compliance.
Maintains documentation, records, and internal systems in accordance with departmental, college, university, and sponsor requirements, and ensures information is up-to-date.
Maintains reporting and/or database of deliverables and reporting requirements for all active sponsored research projects, and proposal-related documents/information, including but not limited to biosketches, other supports, and facilities.
Monitors the processing of sponsored research award documents and/or related agreements, to ensure timely processing through internal systems.
Completes required annual trainings and other required training as needed for the position in a timely manner.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous Microsoft Office experience.
Experience in a Higher Education work environment.
