College of Community Innovation and Education:

UCF College of Community Innovation and Education is a one-of-a-kind academic unit with distinct, interdisciplinary expertise and potential for partnership with community stakeholders, conceived to address societal challenges and work alongside the community. Established in 2018, the college offers undergraduate and graduate programs on the main campus and UCF Downtown. At the heart of the college's mission is the institutional commitment to transform lives and strengthen society by developing a unified vision and innovative solutions to complex social issues. CCIE promotes innovation through state-of-the-art interdisciplinary research with social impact, contemporary inclusive teaching and learning practices, and preeminent service for the disciplines, the institution, and the community.

The Opportunity:

The School of Teacher Education invites applications for an Internship Experiences Coordinator I. This is a part-time position and will act as a conduit between the School of Teacher Education and the Office of Clinical and Field Experiences within the College of Community Innovation and Education.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in collaborative meetings with the School of Teacher Education and Office of Clinical & Field Experiences focusing on student success.

  • Support mentoring classroom teachers supervising student candidates during internship experiences at the schools.

  • Support the School of Teacher Education in hiring Clinical Coordinators for internship supervision.

  • Provide administrative support to the School of Teacher Education for Clinical Coordinator Evaluations.

  • Assign Clinical Coordinators to intern placements. Provide professional development for Clinical Coordinators. Assist and support Clinical Coordinators and Interns who are experiencing issues.

  • Oversee and update internship Web courses for the School of Teacher Education. Partner with the School of Teacher Education to create internship sections and assign instructors.

  • Innovate ongoing communication process with Clinical Coordinators.

  • Annually review and revise the School of Teacher Education Internship Handbook.

  • Supervise interns for unexpected Clinical Coordinator leaves.

  • Aid School of Teacher Education and Office of Clinical and Field Experiences in data collection and reporting.

  • Evaluate and review internship application statuses for accuracy, providing academic advising in MyKnight Star. Analyze unique placement requests.

  • Other duties as assigned by the unit and/or supervisor related to School of Teacher Education Internship Experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree, and 2+ years of relevant experience.

  • Former supervision experience.

  • Previous experience supporting and mentoring teachers.

  • Experience advising students with academic difficulties.

  • Previous experience in a university environment.
