JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the management of projects under the direction of the Project Manager. Owns the coordination of assigned projects to ensure consistency with Technical Services Facilities and Utilities strategies, goals, and commitments. Responsible for managing the project delivery process on each assigned project including initial planning, scope development, contracting, construction, and closeout. Coordinate interactions and serves as liaison between general contractors and contractors, and Universal Orlando Facilities Utilities Engineering.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform the following project management tasks including, but not limited to: Review project requirements documentation; Log, track and respond to Requests for Information (RFI); Review shop drawings submittals; Perform on-site construction field observations, and write field observation reports; Review operational performance specifications; Review and approve Purchase Orders (PO); Review and approve payment applications; Create and maintain project schedules.
  • Develop and manage assigned projects punch list activities. Review submittals from the contractor for all close-out documentation including, but not limited to shop drawings, as-designed or as-built drawings, warranties, and lien waivers. Prepare documentation identifying best practices and lessons learned to improve UO project delivery processes. Prepare project documents for archiving in UO document control.
  • Develop bid strategies and prepare Request for Proposals (RFP) in coordination with UO sourcing department. Identify opportunities for bid alternates, and operational constraints required for contract preparations. Prepare documentation required for site access, lay down and other logistics for the contractors and vendors. Participate in responding to contractor and vendor RFP questions. Prepare final evaluations and recommendations for bids and proposals.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and manage Owner Architect Contractor (OAC) meetings as needed to each assigned project. Create meeting agendas and distribute detailed meeting minutes after all internal and external meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial reporting of assigned projects, including design and construction cost. Provide monthly financial reports of assigned projects.
  • Coordinates construction shipping/receiving elements, purchase orders and testing with direction from the project manager. Responsible for identifying quality assurance and quality control improvements critical to maintain overall project schedules.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities. Oversee overall project safety, obtain final acceptance for a contractors submitted safety plan, and compliance with Environment Health & Safety (EHS) standards.

EDUCATION:
  • Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or a related field is required.
  • Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
EXPERIENCE:
  • 7+ years of experience in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or commercial facilities construction.
  • Experience in the delivery of construction projects with design and construction phases.
  • Experience in project scheduling, estimating, bidding process and negotiations.
  • Experience within the theme park/entertainment industry is preferred
