The Warehouse Quality Control (QC) Lead ensures that all products in the UO Foods Warehouse Distribution Center meet the company's stringent quality standards. This role involves inspecting, testing, and verifying that food products received are stored, handled, and distributed according to safety regulations and company policies. The individual will be responsible for identifying any challenges such as inaccurate inventory, cross-contamination prevention, pest control implementation, products that have been damaged or spoiled during shipping, and equipment failures affecting food safety. Ensures challenges are reported promptly and professionally to appropriate leadership and assist with corrective actions. The Warehouse Quality Control (QC) Lead will work effectively with warehouse staff, management, and the Quality Control & Food Safety team to maintain high-quality standards and ensure compliance with industry regulations. The individual will record and track all known food product concerns with inventory, receiving, or distribution to direct leadership. A meticulous attention to detail, combined with experience in warehouse and food service industries can help reduce inventory errors, improve foods warehouse efficiency, and decrease food loss across the property. The Warehouse Quality Control (QC) Lead plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity and reputation of our food products by ensuring that only the highest quality items reach our guests. This position demands a proactive approach to detecting potential issues before they escalate, along with a commitment to continuous improvement in quality standards. The Warehouse Quality Control (QC) Lead will act as the first line of defense in maintaining the companys dedication to excellence, ensuring that every product entering and leaving the warehouse is safe, compliant, and of the highest quality. This role is integral to our mission of delivering safe and quality food products to our guests.
Pay Rate: $20
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:- Product Receiving: Conduct thorough inspections of incoming, stored, and outgoing products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. Adhere to warehouse metrics, HACCP requirements, iCertainty TFQ real-time tracking, safe product unloading, and proper storage conditions. Track and report any vendor trends as warranted.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure that all products and processes comply with The Food Code (FC) adopted by regulating agencies (FDACS, USDA, FDA). Ensure products meet proper labeling requirements, temperature controls, and traceability. Take corrective action if any products do not meet compliance as advised by direct leadership.
- Product Inventory: Ensure product is properly stored, rotated, and perishable goods are not held past expiration date. Identify and address issues in the selection and distribution process to minimize waste and ensure quality meets UO standards. Utilize warehouse and company inventory management systems (Cambar, Eatec) to ensure physical products match inventory in the warehouse and in locations across the resort.
- Collaboration: Display a professional level of communication and partnership with all interdepartmental correspondence. Consult with warehouse management, Quality Control & Food Safety team, and culinary leadership to resolve any regulatory or quality concerns. Assist in preparing for internal audits by ensuring all quality control processes and documentation are in order. Provide training and guidance on quality control standards to other warehouse staff.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. A degree or certification in food safety, quality control, or a related field is preferred.
- HACCP, SQF, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
- 2+ years prior experience food handling in a kitchen or warehouse environment.
- Preferred 2 years of experience in a quality control role, preferably in a food distribution or manufacturing environment.
- ServSafe Food Protection Manager
- Florida Drivers License is required.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Comfortable being occasionally exposed to extreme cold (non-weather); and extreme heat (non-weather).
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
