JOB SUMMARY

Salary Range: $52,520/yr – $80,683/yr. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, and/or experience.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
  • U.S. Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card.
  • Clean criminal history; any arrest history will be individually evaluated.
  • No illegal drug usage within the last year. Other drug usage will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
  • Associate's degree (A.A. or A.S.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and two (2) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have Airframe and Powerplant License issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
  • Must have a valid Florida driver's license and attend and successfully complete the agency sponsored Law Enforcement Vehicle Operations (LEVO) Training if assignment includes driving agency vehicle. Use of agency vehicle would require appropriate driving history and passing agency biennial driver's physical exam.
  • Ability to operate test consoles, test equipment, and aircraft controls, or observe operation of system components to determine system performance under simulated flight conditions.
  • Ability to regularly ride and participate in test flights to observe and collect information for maintenance purposes.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze test results to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Ability to adjust, replace, repair, inspect, and/or overhaul defective components.
  • Ability to perform structural repairs, modifications, and painting on all aircraft.
  • Must have working knowledge of aircraft repair and maintenance procedures.
  • Must have the ability to take initiative and work autonomously with limited supervision.
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills and be able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience maintaining and repairing Bell 206/ 407 Models and Cessna 172/ 182/ 206/ 208 Models is preferred.
  • FAA Inspection Authorization is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk; and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
