Position Overview

This Faculty member teaches Histologic Technology courses.

Courses may be taught in an array of teaching modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery) and Blended Classes.

What you will be doing
  • Teaches courses in lecture, laboratory, and/or clinical settings
  • Evaluates and advises students
  • Develops curricula
  • Recruits and participates in retention of students
  • Serves on committees
  • Participates in departmental and College affairs
  • Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
  • Master's degree in any field and a Bachelor's degree in Histologic Technology from a regionally accredited institution including a total of 30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) of both Biology and Chemisty courses; and Successful completion of a NAACLS- accredited Histotechnician or Histotechnology program; and 3 years of full-time work and/or instructional experience in field.
  • All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Possess basic computer skills
  • Ability to travel between campuses, clinical sites, and off-campus offering sites
  • Ability to work well with students, faculty, and staff
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekend assignments
Additional Requirements

The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
