We are currently accepting applications for an energetic, experienced Assistant Front Desk Manager to join the team here at Embassy Suites Orlando Lake Buena Vista South. Our award-winning property is 300 suites with 40,000 sq. ft. of meeting, pre-function, and event space. We have an experienced management team, which runs this very busy hotel and convention center in an exceptional manner with high standards, expectations, and strong results orientation.

Scope of Position

The Assistant Front Desk Manager will assist in overseeing and supporting the operations of the Front Office, including but not limited to, the front desk, and bell services. The ideal candidate for this position will help with guest issues, scheduling for the employees, training of new staff, and ensuring guest satisfaction. The Assistant Front Desk Manager also must be able to assist in all areas and have knowledge of each position while still maximizing room revenue and occupancy. Candidate must be able to complete any additional tasks assigned by management while keeping a positive work environment.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of progressive management experience in a hotel preferred.
  • Previous Front Office experience in a hotel required.
  • Possess outstanding guest services skills and leadership capability.
  • Detail oriented with outstanding organizational and communication skills.
  • Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an ever-changing environment.
  • Effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying, and responding to the concerns raised by guests and members.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Promote exceptional customer service.
  • Oversee all aspects of the Front Office & ensure staffing levels are adequate for the shift.
  • To assist Front Office staff when needed.
  • Work hand in hand with the Front Office Manager.
  • To assist the Front Office staff in the close out of their shift and ensure all areas are up to standards.
  • Assist in the training & development of new team members, scheduling, and coaching.
  • Work closely with management from other departments.
  • To look after the well-being of every guest and take personal responsibility in solving guest's problems, to ensure a memorable experience.
  • Uphold the hospitality standards set by the hotel.
  • Be able to work different shifts and/or functions to accommodate business demands.
  • Maintains and adheres to company values.

Education

  • High school diploma.
  • Prefer a college degree in Administration or Hotel Management. Previous management experience is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Able to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.
  • Able to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.
  • Experience using software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Proficient in OnQ (or similar program).

Physical Requirements

  • On a continuous basis, stand at a desk for long periods of time in front of a computer screen. Also requires walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
  • Must be physically fit to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds.
