Coordinate and oversee all middle school athletic programs, practices, contests, and extracurricular athletic activities.
Develop, implement, and monitor the annual athletic program calendar.
Recruit, recommend, supervise, and evaluate coaches in accordance with district policies.
Ensure all coaches meet required certification, training, and compliance requirements.
Schedule athletic contests, officials, transportation, and facilities for all athletic events.
Maintain communication with opposing schools, officials, transportation personnel, and district athletic staff.
Prepare and manage the athletic budget, including equipment purchases and inventory.
Ensure athletic equipment, uniforms, and facilities are maintained, secured, and inventoried.
Coordinate the distribution, collection, and replacement of athletic uniforms and equipment.
Verify student-athlete eligibility, including academic requirements, physical examinations, insurance documentation, and required forms.
Promote good sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and positive character among student-athletes, coaches, and spectators.
Ensure compliance with district policies, conference rules, and applicable state athletic association guidelines.
Coordinate athletic event supervision and assign personnel as needed.
Develop emergency procedures and ensure appropriate safety measures are followed during practices and competitions.
Collaborate with school administration regarding athletic operations, discipline, and student participation.
Communicate athletic schedules, expectations, and program information with students, parents, staff, and the community.
Coordinate athletic awards, recognition programs, and end-of-season activities.
Assist in planning and promoting athletic events to increase school and community involvement.
Maintain accurate records of athletic participation, budgets, inventories, schedules, and contest results.
Ensure athletic facilities are prepared before and secured after practices and events.
Monitor and enforce student conduct expectations during athletic activities.
Serve as the school's liaison with district athletic personnel and conference representatives.
Attend district athletic meetings, professional development, and required trainings.
Support school-wide initiatives and perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of middle school athletic programs and applicable rules and regulations.
Ability to organize and coordinate multiple athletic programs simultaneously.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to supervise staff and volunteers effectively.
Knowledge of budgeting, inventory management, and purchasing procedures.
Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.
Proficiency with technology used for scheduling, communication, and recordkeeping.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry athletic equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as required for athletic events.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
