ABOUT THE ROLE

Mayersohn Law Group, P.A. is seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney with substantial jury trial experience (50+), federal exposure, and a strong foundation in prosecution. This role is built for a seasoned litigator who is strategic, organized, and exercises sound professional judgment, with the ability to manage complex criminal cases from start to finish.

You will serve as lead counsel on serious, high-stakes matters, develop deliberate and effective defense strategies, and advocate with precision in and out of the courtroom. This is an opportunity to practice at a high level in a firm that prioritizes preparation, accountability, and results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead Criminal Defense Litigation
  • Serve as lead counsel on felony and complex criminal cases
  • Manage cases from intake through resolution with strong follow-through
  • Represent clients in hearings, negotiations, and jury trials
  • Maintain a professional and confident courtroom presence

Strategic Case Development
  • Evaluate cases early and identify strengths, risks, and opportunities
  • Develop clear, strategic defense plans tailored to each client
  • Anticipate opposing arguments using prosecutorial insight
  • Exercise sound legal judgment in high-pressure situations
  • Demonstrates innovative, forward-thinking approaches to case management

Written Advocacy & Case Preparation
  • Draft and review motions, briefs, and legal filings with precision
  • Maintain highly organized, trial-ready case files
  • Conduct focused legal research and apply analytical thinking
  • Prepare thoroughly for hearings and trial proceedings

Client Communication & Team Collaboration
  • Communicate clearly, directly, and professionally with clients
  • Provide honest assessments and manage expectations effectively
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys and staff while taking ownership of cases
  • Contribute to a respectful, accountable, and solutions-oriented team environment

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Several years of criminal defense experience with increasing responsibility
  • Significant jury trial experience (50+ preferred)
  • Federal criminal experience
  • Active Florida Bar license in good standing
  • Ability to consistently meet or exceed monthly billable hour expectations

Preferred
  • Prior prosecutorial experience (strongly preferred)
  • Experience with post conviction motions
