Description
This position assists with the safe, timely, and efficient operation of a marine vessel by performing a variety of vessel-based tasks at the direction of the vessel's Captain or other Master.
Position Expectations:
- Prioritize safety above all else, including being knowledgeable of and accurately following company policies and procedures
- Cooperatively and professionally follow orders from vessel Captain/Master (and his/her relief)
- Create a positive work environment for all crew members onboard the vessel
- Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally with vessel crew, operations teams, and corporate office team
- Effectively work with vessel crew to complete customer jobs in a timely and efficient manner

Position Preview:
- Operational Duties
o Making up the lines for vessel handling
o Standing lookout
o Making up lines, line handling (including splicing and throwing lines) during dockings, sailings, or shifting
o Maintaining radio watch when required. - Maintenance Duties
o Chipping and painting vessel
o Other equipment maintenance as directed.
o Carry out required engine room rounds - Housekeeping Duties
o General Sanitation duties inside and outside the vessel as directed;
o Cleaning or scouring the vessel;
o Cleaning quarters, including personal quarters;
o Cleaning the wheelhouse and galley;
o Cleaning the heads and companionways;
o Prepares meals as directed by the Master of the vessel, and;
o Performing other any reasonable cleaning chores as directed by the Master. - Safety Duties
o Reporting any hazardous or unsafe condition to the master and making "on-the-spot" corrections when capable.
o Positively participate in safety drills and safety meetings
