JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for creative, thematic, and innovative architectural design for projects implemented by Universal Creative. Assists the Architecture & Engineering Managers and Art Directors with the development of sketches, drawings and 3D sketch models if required to design and plan new Theme Parks venues. As part of the Creative Design team, will also assist with creatively integrating the front-of-house themed show, facility, equipment, and elements into the overall creative environment. Utilizes various drafting techniques, 3D modeling & drawing techniques and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, 3ds Max, Maya, Adobe Graphics software, 3D software, etc.) to model, draw, draft and create dimensional, scale drawings and models detailing the design intent and the integration of various show elements with each other and the facility. Role includes assisting with review and coordinating with design drawings from outside firms. Provides drawings, sketches, and solutions for the contractor during the construction administration phase.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete architectural and design intent drawings in to support the creative project assigned to.
- Create and maintain digital 3-D modeling services in Sketch Up or other formats that accurately and clearly depict the architectural design intent.
- Assemble documentation into a presentation format utilizing Adobe Photoshop, Power Point and/or other digital formats.
- Convey design intent to outside Architectural and Engineering firms through aesthetic design, color boards, sketching and drafting.
- Provide design clarification and in-field solutions to the contractor during construction utilizing drawings, sketches, and 3-D electronic models.
- Conduct research and gather relevant data to support design development for theme parks and resort projects.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

- Must be a creative, innovative, organized thinker and problem solver with strong technical and artistic ability with various design techniques/tools such as show set / scenic design and drafting, 3D modeling, architectural design, and/or others.
- Must be able to read architectural and engineering technical drawings and coordinate proposed design intent with the proposed construction.
- Must be proficient in both AutoCAD and Revit. Preferably has 3D computer modeling & rendering skills.
- Must have strong communication and collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment that includes a wide variety of aesthetic, technical and project management disciplines.
SCOPE:
EDUCATION:
- Bachelors degree in related field preferred. (Architecture, Design, Graphics, Computer Animation, etc.)
EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years: Experience in Architectural Design required.
- 2+ years: Experience in Theme Park, Hotel and Entertainment Venues Preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Hand and computer drawing, and drafting skills required.
- Experience with AUTOCAD, Sketch Up, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and PowerPoint required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
